Ha! Real estate humor, that’s great. There are so many hilarious things that happen in this industry. Some, not so funny at the moment, but looking back Yes!
Haha. My real estate experience (buying my first house… and it was in another country) was a laugh-or-else-you’re-going-to-cry experience!
Funny now, but funny because if not I would have been in a puddle at my own feet then.
I listed a house that was overpriced, kept reducing the price, but it never sold. Did get a lease purchase buyer but it fell through. The seller finally decided to rent it. I was looking to move and so I called the owner to inquire, he said everything was under lease agreement of the two apartments. So I kept looking. Two weeks later the owner called to let me know, the people on the first floor moved out during the night. He gave me one free month and I moved in, I am still here. Cheers.
Thanks for the post! The processes of buying and selling a home can be very frustrating, especially when people in each parties do not see things eye to eye. Laughing helps to relax and to calm the mind.
I had a clients home listed that worked as a nurse. Terry often worked the night shift so, showings during the day were sometimes difficult. We called to schedule a showing and didn’t get an answer so we left the message on the answering machine and scheduled the showing. My client called me late in the day to tell me about the showing at her home…… terry said she woke up in the morning and heard voices in her kitchen. She realized that there were people in her house and they were headed up the stairs to the bedroom where she was. Unable to get up before they reached the room, terry made the quick decision to play possum. I need to explain that terry was about 4 foot 5 inches and less than 100 lbs soaking wet. She had one of the old fashioned water beds before baffles. terry tossed the heavy comforter over her head and laid still while the couple and Realtor viewed the bedroom. terry said it was all she could do to keep from laughing as she listened to the conversation with the Realtor and customers unaware that she was right there in bed! Thank goodness no one decided to sit on the bed and talk. Everyone would have been in for a fright.
Jameeta280 that is so very funny. Just hope the couple liked the home and were complimentary. Love the story. Cheers.
